New York will offer Covid-19 vaccines to tourists, says the mayor

São Paulo – New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said at a press conference that the US city will offer vaccines against Covid-19 to visitors.

According to the American Television Network ABC, The goal is to encourage tourism – including visiting attractions such as Central Park and Times Square. Trolleys will be installed at these attractions for the Johnson & Johnson dosing application from 1 pm-8pm. The use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine is a single dose.

The mayor of New York proposed the plan last Thursday (6), saying that the initiative still needs approval by the state. At the time, regulations permitted vaccination only for those who worked or lived in New York state. The state’s approval came last Saturday (8), according to Al ABC.

It should be noted that Brazilians are not yet allowed to travel to the United States, ignoring exceptions such as academics, students and long-term residents.
