    Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) NASA Discover a new planet that may be habitable. Called TOI 700 e, it is 95% volume a land It may be rocky, but it has a “habitable zone,” meaning that some areas of its planetary system allow liquid water to exist. The discovery was presented on Tuesday, the 10th, at the 241st meeting of the American Astronomical Society, in Seattle. Previously, other astronomers had discovered three more planets called TOI 700 b, c, and d. The latter also had orbits in the habitable zone. “This is one of the few systems with multiple small habitable planets that we know about,” said Emily Gilbert, a postdoctoral fellow at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California who led the work. “This makes the TOI 700 system an interesting opportunity for further follow-up.” According to experts, planet “e” is about 10% smaller than planet d. Gilbert says this discovery shows how TESS is helping to find smaller and smaller worlds. TOI 700 “e” takes 28 days to orbit its star and is 100 light-years away in the constellation of Dorado. According to NASA, “Finding other systems with Earth-sized worlds in this region helps planetary scientists learn more about the history of our solar system.”
