Ministry of Education against passport vaccination in universities

The Minister of Education, Milton Ribeiro, has decided to prevent federal educational institutions from requesting vaccination against COVID-19 as a condition for the return of face-to-face educational activities. With his decision, these institutions are responsible for implementing health protocols and observing the guidelines established by a decision of the National Board of Education in August of this year.

The US and UK are setting records for new Covid-19 cases. Delta and omicron variants are responsible for the new wave of infection. The seven-day moving average of cases in the US was 267,000 yesterday. On the other hand, the total number of new infections in the UK reached 183,000 within 24 hours – in the country, 90% of admissions are for those who did not take the booster dose. According to the World Health Organization, the rise in the number of omicron infections in the past seven days has increased the pressure on health systems, which are “on the verge of collapse”.
