Interview: Clara Buarque says she denied the artistic vein and reveals the dream

“A little scary. But, having done some work before, I didn’t feel insecure. Of course there is a scary side, because Globo has a lot of vision, it’s a lot of exposure. – I postponed my desire to work in art out of fear. Exposure, criticism and pressure to follow in my family’s footsteps. Because I already more or less knew how this world works and I was very afraid, and at the same time I was happy about everything. Six or seven years ago that would have been a denial to me. I said that this was not what I wanted to do, and that I would try to go the other way. But I guess I was born for this. Since I was a little girl, I’ve had this side, and people in my family already know. I think I inherited a little bit of every aspect of them, singing, acting, dancing… I had nowhere to run, but for a while I didn’t have the courage to admit I was born an artist.

Clara also told how she was dealing with the pressure she was experiencing professionally She comes from a family of famous artists:

– I think that since I was born into my own family, which is of great importance, people always expect more from me and judge me. There will always be comparison with my family and they will set my expectations in hopes that I will reach the same level as them or more. But each one has its own story. I am going my own way and do not intend to be like my father, grandfather or grandmother … I will do it on my own way, I will start now. Many people will doubt my talent.
