Sunday ends with some very good news for Hi-Fi Rush fans. Krafton, the owner of PUBG, has announced the acquisition of Tango Gameworks along with Xbox. According to the statement, the two companies are working collaboratively to ensure a smooth transaction.

Originally, Tango Gameworks was a Bethesda studio, which ended up being acquired by Microsoft in a $7.5 billion deal in 2021. Along with the studio, Microsoft brought the franchises The Evil Within and Ghostwire Tokyo, as well as the popular Hi-Fi Rush. But in 2023, the Xbox owner ended up announcing the studio’s closure in a restructuring process.

    Crafton explains in a memo:

“This integration reinforces Krafton’s commitment to expanding its global presence and enhancing its portfolio with innovative, high-quality content. The addition of Tango Gameworks represents a strategic fit with Krafton’s mission to push the boundaries of interactive entertainment.

According to the PUBG publisher, the acquisition does not affect the availability of previous titles, which remain available wherever they are. Details of the deal are still being worked out. For now, the announcement focuses on Hi-Fi Rush and franchise expansion, but other Tango Gameworks properties are also expected to be part of the purchase package.

    About Krafton
