After complaints from some players, FromSoftware has relented and Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree has become a little easier to play with the latest available update.

According to the studio, patch 1.12.2 focuses on two principles: the title's performance on PC and experience balance. The “Shadow Realm Blessings” system gives a greater bonus to your character and summoned spirit in the early levels – making at least the beginning of your journey through the DLC a little more “simple,” so to speak.

The update also brings changes to the maximum level of blessings, making your character a little stronger within the expansion.

Initially, Bandai Namco addressed complaints about the expansion's difficulty, stating that players should focus on increasing the level of Blessings. However, FromSoftware suddenly made this change, lowering the difficulty at the start of the DLC without going into further detail.

The matter should not stop there, as the upcoming updates for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree promise to adjust the difficulty of enemies in New Game+, making fighting against them easier, in addition to bringing more bug fixes and problems that appear in the experience, as well as other improvements in Performance for all platforms.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree on PC

To fine-tune the performance of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree on PC, the patch fixed an issue that automatically triggered Ray Tracing when the player loaded a previous recording.

FromSoftware recommends that players who are still experiencing expansion performance issues check to see if Ray Tracing is disabled in the title's settings. If it is enabled, disable it and save the changes to see the improvements.

    Difficulties in DLC

To meet the demands of players in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, modifications have been implemented to balance the experience and bring the difficulty close to that seen in the base game. The suggestion is to offer something easy to the audience.

It's still uncertain whether the update from FromSoftware will please fans, but the “Normalized DLC Damage” mod completely eliminates the need to collect parts of Revered Umbravore and Spiritual Ash.
