Eduardo Leite discusses the partnership with the UK mission

This Thursday (4/5), Governor Eduardo Light received a delegation from the United Kingdom, represented by Melanie Hopkins, Vice President of the United Kingdom Mission in Brazil, and Martin Walley, Executive Director of Foreign Trade. The meeting took place at the Fernando Ferrari Administrative Center (CAF) in Porto Alegre, and the theme was Rio Grande do Sul’s Partnership and Opportunities with the Government of the United Kingdom and its institutions. The governor was accompanied by the Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock, Sustainable Production and Irrigation, Giovanni Feldes.

Topics discussed included technology, agriculture and livestock related projects, irrigation projects for rural productive areas, Measures to reduce the use of pesticides in agricultural production and Clean energy production, mainly offshore wind and green hydrogen.

Governor Eduardo Light welcomed the delegation and reinforced the intention of the Rio Grande do Sul government to be the UK’s partner in Brazil. Leet highlighted the relationship with the region and the intention to further strengthen these ties.

“Rio Grande do Sul specializes in areas of interest to the United Kingdom, such as clean energy production, technology in agricultural production, low-carbon agriculture and other fundamental issues of the state. And give results to the population,” the governor told the United Kingdom’s representatives.

Honorary Consul at Porto Alegre

During a meeting held this morning, the delegation presented the new Honorary Consul of the United Kingdom in Porto Alegre, Ricardo Sondermann, to Governor Eduardo Light.
