A thousand drones lit up on Friday night (15) in New York, an event that is part of an international campaign for the Amazon.

The city, which will host the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly next Tuesday (19), has been chosen for the bid calling for the protection of the forest.

Drones formed species of biomes in the sky over Manhattan Island: a jaguar, a pink dolphin, and a kapok tree, among other characters.

The aim of the campaign is to draw attention to the forest days before Lula’s speech at the United Nations – by tradition, the Brazilian president delivers the opening speech.

One message in English shows the planet on fire and the phrase “Amazon is burning, the world is burning.”

Indigenous representatives participated in the event. Brazilian DJ Alok also participated in the show.
