Divinópolis City Hall promotes the first bariatric surgery by SUS

The Municipality of Divinopolis, through the Municipal Health Service (SEMUSA), is pleased to announce last Wednesday (07/06) the first bariatric surgery to be performed by the Unified Health System (SUS) in the municipality.

The important and delicate pre-operative procedure was performed entirely in the infirmary and the surgery was performed in the São João de Deus Health Complex, with the participation of a multi-professional team from the network comprising a surgeon, an endocrinologist, a nurse, a psychologist, a nutritionist and a social service, providing the safety and comfort for a successful operation as well as It was completed.

The patient will continue to be assisted by the team who will from then on conduct post-operative care, following a range of care essential to her recovery and progression in the process of promoting health and quality of life.
