    On Wednesday (5), Ukraine announced the participation of Portugal and Spain in its bid to host the 2030 World Cup. The announcement came at a press conference at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.

    “It is a great honor to announce that Portugal and Spain have included Ukraine in their joint bid to host the 2030 World Cup. In addition to the countries of the old continent, South America was also being talked about as a possible host. . The nomination must be from South America: Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay and Argentina. However, UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin did not confirm any new information.

    “I am sure that we will hold the 2030 World Cup in Spain and Portugal,” said the director, during a lecture at the opening of the Football Talks, an event organized at the Portuguese Football Federation headquarters, in Lisbon.

    As for Africa, Morocco has launched its candidacy and expects the support of Algeria and Tunisia. Also for UEFA, Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia and Romania are considering hosting the World Cup together. Other interested parties such as Egypt, Cameroon, the United Kingdom, Australia, Colombia (along with Ecuador and Peru) and South Korea (along with China and Japan) have not yet formalized the application.
