The legal dispute between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt has been going on for almost a decade, with the former couple discussing the sale of the actress's stake in the Château Miraval winery – a winery they bought together in 2008. This Wednesday (17), the actress's legal case will be held and the team has released a statement in which Jolie appeals to her ex-husband, asking for an end to the dispute so that the family can “find a path to healing”.

In a memo to TMZ, attorney Paul Murphy asked Pitt to drop the lawsuit against the Eternals star. The move prevents Angelina from selling her stake in the property, which they split 50/50, until 2021.

The house has control over all the property shared between the spouses, as well as control over the business. (Miraval wine label)But he still demands more and is suing Angelina for $67 million. (about 370 million Brazilian reals)In addition to punitive damages”The lawyer explained.

Murphy also suggested that the continued proceedings against his client would be a way to punish Angelina and “cover up” Pitt's abusive behavior. “In doing so, Pitt directly questioned why he was trying to punish and control Angelina by demanding an NDA. (unspoken agreement) “Recently to cover up his personal misconduct and abuse. These procedures are essential to this process. We are not surprised that Mr. Pitt is afraid to hand over documents proving these facts.” he added.

Last year, the actress revealed in court details of the assaults she suffered at the hands of her ex-partner during a flight from France to California.

“While Angelina once again asks Mr. Pitt to end the fight and finally put her family on a clear path to healing, unless Mr. Pitt withdraws his lawsuit, Angelina has no choice but to obtain the evidence she needs to prove your allegations are false.”“,” Paul concluded.

The legal dispute between Pitt and Jolie began when the actress decided to sell her stake in the winery. In response, Pitt filed a lawsuit claiming that the sale violated a prior agreement under which he had committed to buying those shares.

Jolie responded to the allegation with a countersuit, alleging that Brad modified their previous agreement by refusing to receive her shares in the property unless she agreed to sign a more comprehensive non-disclosure agreement (NDA). According to her, the arrangement was an attempt to cover up incidents of physical abuse against her and her children. Pitt's lawyers have strongly denied the allegation.

In June 2023, Pitt's team filed documents indicating that Jolie was the one who initially requested the more comprehensive NDA. Understand the case by clicking here.
