A 60-year-old woman died after she jumped from a bungee jumping platform and the rope broke. The case was recorded on Monday (26), in a mall located in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea.
The victim, whose name was not revealed, suffered a cardiac arrest, and was rescued and taken to the hospital, but he did not survive. The fall suffered by the elderly woman was approximately eight metres.
Police believe the bungee cord came loose due to a defect in the rope carabiner that attaches the rope to a beam or winch. The incident will be investigated by the authorities.
The bungee jumping platform has become one of the most popular attractions since the opening of Starfield Anseong Mall in 2020.
