THQ Nordic decided to run away from the competition in October and delayed the Alone in the Dark reboot by nearly three months. Now, the reboot of the survival horror classic will be available on consoles and PC on January 16, 2024, instead of October 25.
In this case, there was no pun. The developers have made it clear that they want to prevent other major releases in the coming weeks from overshadowing the debut of the new horror game. And in a month with Alan Wake 2 and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the decision was understandable.

Our goal is to avoid competing with the epic version of Alan Wake 2 and escape from dazzling city skylines embellished by Spider-Man’s agile movements. We really want to be alone in the dark as much as possible.
To honor this, the terrifying horror game has been rescheduled to reveal its horrors on January 16, 2024.
This extension will serve a dual purpose: not only will it allow us to accurately improve the gaming experience, but it will also give us the opportunity to fully immerse ourselves in the highlights of the month of October.
Alone in the Dark will be released for PS5, Xbox Series X and PC.
