On Tuesday (24/8) the Senate Economic Affairs Committee approved a bill that places restrictions on transactions and possession of cash. The text now goes to the Commission on Constitution and Justice (CCJ). The idea of the proposal is to reduce money laundering.

According to columnist Lauro Jardim, of O Globo newspaper, Senator Fevio Bolsonaro (Patriota), son of President Jair Bolsonaro (without party), has attempted to request a review of the project again, but the head of the commission, Otto Alensar (PSD), claimed That the vote could not have been postponed again, based on the bylaws. Flvio succeeded in postponing the analysis of the proposal before.

He argued that curbing money laundering was important, but that “it is important to discuss the reality of Brazilians.” But he did not explain what he meant by the statement.

Project planned by Alessandro Vieira (realization of citizenship):

  • cash transactions in amounts exceeding 10 thousand riyals;
  • Paying bank slips of more than 5,000 riyals;
  • Movement of money in excess of 100 thousand riyals, excluding transfers by value companies;
  • Possession in kind of more than 300 thousand riyals, except in specific cases.

Felvio was investigated for the “split” scheme while he was state deputy. He and his former employees were convicted, among other reasons, of suspicious transactions made with large sums of cash.
