Victoria Brignell, who lives in London, England, is a quadriplegic and therefore is paralyzed from the neck down. Recently, she had an upsetting situation when she was left alone for over an hour and a half on a plane. Because of the great repercussions, Gatwick Airport, located in the English capital, sent an apology. Information from O Globo.

Victoria said that at first she was told she would wait on the plane for 50 minutes for a team to come and help her off.

However, no one showed up and she had to wait much longer. “Shortly after landing, the British Airways staff came to me and said they were sorry, but the people who were supposed to help me get off the plane wouldn’t be there for 50 minutes. Time passed and I was told it would be another half hour on top of that. In the end, I waited an hour and 35 minutes.”

Victoria stressed that she had hired a disabled assistance service three months ago and reminded the airline two weeks before the trip.

Because of waiting inside the plane, Victoria was unable to use the bathroom.

“I can’t use my arms or legs. To get off the plane, I need two people to get me out of my seat on the aisle chair, a narrow wheelchair specifically designed to push me along the aisle, and put me in the wheelchair next to it,” he explained.

After all the inconvenience, a spokesperson for Gatwick Airport said the treatment Victoria received was “unacceptable and I would like to offer our sincerest apologies”.
