We will talk, and we really have to do the hard work of dialogue, face to face. And it’s important hand in hand. There’s nothing more powerful and clear than the manual work, where you go cabinet after cabinet so you can clarify and explain.
Alexander Baldy, Vice President of BYD, talks about the company’s strategy

The growth of electric vehicles has put pressure on the combustion vehicle sector, which fears losing space to new technology. Baldi says there’s a lot of misinformation about electric cars. The BYD vice president said he’s already met senators at airports who have asked him if an electric car battery can explode or if a car can catch fire. “In the past, the technology was different,” Baldi says. “This technology, in 10 years, has changed a lot, and in two years, it’s changed a lot.”

My father has experience in Congress. BYD’s vice president is a former federal deputy (PP-GO) and former minister of cities during Michel Temer’s government (MDB). The businessman said he is open to receiving senators and letting them get to know the Chinese automaker.

I want to showcase our technology, innovation, capacity and energy transition, which we talk about a lot but don’t go into very deeply, so we can actually understand how a battery is made.
Alexander Baldy, Vice President of BYD

Bahia senators must support automaker. BYD took over Ford’s plant in Camasari, Bahia, in 2023. State senators celebrated the Chinese manufacturer’s arrival.
