Security measures were intensified with drones and jet skis. The local Tilde police and rescue team used drones and jet skis to monitor the areas of Milinara, Salinitas and Taliarte, fearing the shark was still in the area. The lockdown measure was also extended to Salinitas, according to local news site Teldeactualidad.

The reopening was based on initial monitoring that indicated there was no shark. The beach was reopened after the local Telde police and Proactiva, the company responsible for monitoring and rescue, used drones to ensure that the shark seen on Saturday (15) had moved away. However, the shark's continued presence led to the new closure, Canarias7 TV found.

Authorities are keeping the beach closed until further safety assessment is conducted. A local police spokesperson stated that the beach will remain closed until the area is fully searched.

The beach is famous for its beauty and environmental quality certificate. Millenara is a popular beach and boasts the Blue Flag, a symbol of quality and environmental commitment, making the situation even more worrying for visitors and local authorities.

On Saturday, the Milinara Playa Monitoring and Rescue Service issued an alert due to a Tiburon a few meters away that approached the shore, towards the area where the swimmers were leaving.
