    Gatwick Airport's contribution to the UK economy is around €6.5bn (£5.5bn), according to a study by Oxero.

    The study identifies that the majority of this contribution was in the South East region, in West Sussex, East Sussex, Surrey, Kent, Brighton and Hove and Croydon, particularly in West Sussex, where it supports 22,047 jobs, Surrey, where it supports 11,908 jobs, and Kent, where employment is 7220 jobs.

    According to ACI (Airports Council International), London Gatwick was the 10th largest European airport by passenger numbers in 2023, with 22.4 million, an increase of 13.7% compared to the previous year, but still 8% lower than in 2019, before the pandemic. .

    ACI information also indicates that in 2023, Gatwick Airport recorded a total of 137,405 movements (landings and take-offs) and transported 33.5 thousand tons of cargo.
    Lisbon ranked 14th among the largest European airports in terms of the number of passengers in 2023, reaching 17.76 million, with a total of 116.1 thousand movements.
