    Finance Minister Fernando Haddad is planning a series of activities during his visit to the United States this week, focusing on international environmental and tax issues. From Monday (15) to Friday (19), he will participate in the spring meeting of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, in addition to the second meeting of the G20 financial track in Washington.

    On the first day, Haddad will focus on promoting Brazil's environmental transformation plan. At 3 p.m. (local time), he will participate in an event on sustainable finance at the Wilson Center, in cooperation with the Brazil Institute and the International Affairs Secretariat of the Ministry of Finance, where he will discuss the topic alongside the Brazilian Ambassador to Brazil. United States, Maria Luisa Ribeiro Viotti, and economist Mark Carney.

    Launched at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) in 2023, the Green Transition Agenda aims to promote sustainable development and reassess globalization through investments that benefit the environment and reduce inequality. This plan revolves around six main axes: sustainable finance, technological development, bioeconomy, energy transition, circular economy and adaptation to climate change.

    Then, at 5 p.m., Haddad will be at the American Chamber of Commerce (US Chamber), to participate in a panel discussion on “Investing in Latin America: Economic Reforms in Brazil,” accompanied by the President of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). , Ilan Goldwagen.

    On the second day, he will participate in activities parallel to the G20 meeting. In the morning, a panel discussion on the “Hunger Task Force” will be held at the World Bank headquarters, followed by a discussion on international taxation in partnership between Brazil and France at the IMF headquarters. He will also participate in a roundtable on global sovereign debt.

    On Wednesday afternoon, Haddad will attend the Brazilian President's meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, followed by an official G20 working dinner.

    On Thursday, he will chair the second G20 ministerial meeting and hold a press conference. In the afternoon, he will hold bilateral meetings and participate in a discussion on risks to the global economy promoted by the International Monetary Fund and the G20.

    The Ministry of Finance delegation's trip concludes on Friday with breakfast at the International Monetary Fund, the fund's general meeting, and meetings with European authorities and the World Bank. Return to São Paulo is scheduled at 6:30pm (local time).
