The National Institute of Social Security (INSS) is the federal government body responsible for paying Social Security benefits, such as pensions. To obtain the desired monthly income, an insured worker needs to spend decades contributing monthly to the municipality.

However, given the rules for calculating this interest, very few people are able to do this Retirement with a roof Social Security, which until last year was R$7,507.49. If this is your case, know that there are other ways to earn a good wage during old age.

A good solution to not rely on INSS is to invest your money. But after all, how much does a person need to invest monthly over 30 years to have an income of R$7,500 in retirement?

When to invest for retirement with R$ 7,500

    Direct Treasury

Anyone who values security and does not want to take risks should invest about R$ 2,480 per month in Tesouro Direto for 30 years to obtain a lifetime income equivalent to R$ 7,500 per month. Equivalent because the nominal value that the investor receives in the future will be higher, taking inflation into account, but the purchasing power will correspond to what it is worth today of R$ 7,500.

The calculation takes into account an average real profitability of 4.7%, deducting income tax and inflation expected by the central bank.

    CDB, LCA and LCI

Bonds (CDB, LCA and LCI) in low-risk options still have a slightly higher profitability than Tesouro Direto. Taking into account a return of 5.5% per annum over the next 30 years, the future retiree would need to invest R$1,830 every month to guarantee R$7,500 per month.

This ratio is similar to the current profitability of CDBs, LCAs and LCIs of small and medium-sized banks. Since the FGC (Credit Guarantee Fund) only guarantees amounts up to R$250,000 in case the financial institution fails, a good solution is to invest in securities from different banks.

    Mix of applications

Combining investments in Tesouro Direto (60%) and the above-mentioned private bonds (40%), monthly investments of about R$2,190 would be necessary to earn R$7,500 per month after 30 years. The value actually discounts IR on the options to which it is applied.

    Real estate funds

For those who are willing to take greater risks, a faster alternative to building wealth for old age is investing in real estate investment trusts (FIIs). When choosing this type of asset, it is necessary to invest about R$ 680 per month to guarantee a lifetime income equivalent to the INSS ceiling in 2023.

The average return on dividends from real estate funds in the logistics services, shopping malls and corporate buildings sectors that were taken into account in the calculations was 8.5% per annum, tax-free.
