BMW had a full calendar in 2022 and 2023, revamping its Brazilian portfolio almost simultaneously with Europe. For 2024, it will be no different. The brand confirmed that it will launch more than 15 cars next year, including combustion and electric models.
The first to arrive, in the first quarter, will be the i5, the unprecedented electric version of the new generation of the 5 Series. At the moment, it will be the only representative of the mid-range in Brazil, as is the case with the i7 that represents the 7 Series here.
But the i5 will not arrive here in any version. The choice was no less than the top model, the M60, which has the same power as the current M5, which is still in the previous generation and equipped with a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8. In other words, the i5 M60 has 601bhp and 81.1kgm extracted from two electric motors, one on each axle. It’s even more powerful than its “big brother”, the i7.

According to BMW, the electric sedan can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. Expected autonomy is up to 516 kilometers on the WLTP cycle, although the battery is average, at 81.2 kWh.
After the i5, it will be the turn of the new X2, along with its electric version, the iX2. Like the sedan, the SUV coupe will be imported from Regensburg, Germany. In this case, the versions selected for Brazil have not yet been released.
The X2 has three petrol engine options: sDrive18i (1.5 turbo 136 hp), sDrive20i (1.5 turbo mild hybrid 170 hp) and M35i xDrive (2.0 turbo 317 hp with all-wheel drive). The iX2, for now, only has the option of 313 horsepower coming from two motors (one on each axle), which is the same configuration as the iX1. A new version with only one engine will be unveiled in 2024.
Other planned launches remain a secret, but they could include models such as the M3 CS, the new M5 and even the XM SUV.
