    The TravelBI platform has published results on card spending by expats in Portugal, with France, the United Kingdom and the United States emerging as the main spender markets.

    According to TravelBI, total card purchases in Portugal were 6,123.8 million euros, with residents of France accounting for 1,004.7 million, the United Kingdom 856 million and residents of the United States 694.2 million euros.

    Ireland, Spain and Germany follow in the rankings with card spending of 575.2, 553.2 and 456.5 million euros. The Netherlands closes the ranking with 287.3, Switzerland 202, Brazil 192.7 and Belgium 154.5 million euros spent using cards by its residents.

    In terms of the average value of foreign purchases, Switzerland leads the ranking with an average of 81 euros, followed by the United States and France in second and third place with an average of 75.8 and 72 euros respectively. .

    Ireland, Luxembourg, Germany and Belgium spend between 71.3 and 61.5 euros on average, while the United Kingdom in eighth place in the ranking has an average of 55.3 euros, and the value of residents in the Netherlands is only in the lead in average spending (54.4 euros) and Spain (53.8 euros).
