A student got a puncture in his neck during a sporting event last Saturday (17th) in India. Sadananda Mihir, 14, was watching a javelin throw practice when another student hit him. The local Times of India reported that even with the deep wound, there was no internal injury and the youngster is still recovering after the surgery.

The case took place in the village of Agalpur in the Indian state of Odisha, while the Panchayat High School held an annual sports meeting.

When he was taken to the hospital, he had to be immobilized with the help of other people to prevent the arrows from moving and aggravating his injuries. The body was removed after an hour-long surgery. As a complementary treatment, the boy received a tetanus shot, antibiotics and painkillers.

According to The Times of India, X-ray and ultrasound examinations confirmed that the trachea, thyroid gland, jugular vein and carotid artery, located near the wound, were not damaged. Then, Sadananda Mahir placed under observation for 72 hours in stable condition.

The local government said on Twitter that it was providing support to the students. A government dossier wrote that “The Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik, wished the boy a speedy recovery and announced that the expenses of his treatment would be covered by the Prime Minister’s Assistance Fund.”

Next, file UOL A video clip published by the New York Post was broadcast showing the moment Sadananda Maher was taken by ambulance. Attention: the images are powerful.
