    150 tourists, including US and UK citizens, were arrested by indigenous people in Peru.

    Community leaders in the Cuenico region told local media that the group had been held hostage as part of a protest against the Peruvian government following an oil spill in the area.

    “Our specific request is for the government to declare a state of emergency because of the ongoing oil spills in our region, and then a committee headed by the president was appointed,” community leader Watson Trujillo told the National Institute. TV news.
