Bird sounds are good for your brain

The research that motivated this finding analyzed 295 volunteers. Each person listened to different sounds over a standard period of time to analyze the effects of each on the human being. The next day before and after listening to the sounds, each volunteer completed a questionnaire to assess Psychological health and individual cognitive behaviour.

According to the authors of the research, all people have their own mental inclinations. Even the healthiest people can have worrying thoughts, fears, and moments of deep depression. However, what was observed were similar patterns in any person, regardless of whether or not he had some type of mental disorder.

The effect of bird sounds on mood is known

In fact, birdsong has been analyzed as a mood-altering agent for some time. Other studies have shown positive effects along the same lines. However, the current study went further and showed that there are gains for paranoid mental states.

While the sound of traffic increased stress in cases of depression and WorryBirdsongs improved mental health conditions for all volunteers. One point that caught our attention was that no sound of any kind affected people’s cognitive abilities. But the singing of birds greatly reduced anxiety and paranoia.

The reason is still not clear, but it is probably due to the combination of a natural and peaceful environment in the human mind. The results of the research indicate new possibilities for scientific deepening on the same topic.
