SAO PAULO, SP (FOLHAPRESS) – A small island is preparing to find a new manager who can run an exclusive bar. Located on the coast of Cumbria in northern England, Piel Island is about 200,000 square meters and can be reached by guided tour on foot or by ferry.

The search is expected to begin next January until the new director begins work in April. In addition to running the pub that remained without managers after the contract expired, the nominee would also be crowned “King of Bill” in a party where he bathed in beer while seated on the throne.

In an interview with The Guardian, John Murphy, who has been doing guided tours of the island for more than 40 years, said whoever is chosen for the job will be in charge of the place for 10 years, and the person should “have a great deal of dedication and passion for solitude, peace and silence. It requires character. Especially “.

Murphy says people often visit the island for birthday parties or just for a drink before camping overnight. “Even if I am upset, the views from Bell are wonderful. I must have slept on every piece of that island, sober or drunk.”

He says he would like to take the job, but the 73-year-old doesn’t allow it. “I absolutely love Peel Island, I love how isolated it is. I also love the fact that Barrow is an industrial city and that this beautiful and isolated island is so close,” he added of the island near Barrow.

Plans to secure the future of the site on the southern tip of the Furness Peninsula were discussed at the Barrow Borough Council Review and Oversight Committee meeting, the BBC’s Local Democracy Reporting Service reports.

Sandra Bynes, the municipality’s head of economy and visitor culture, said the goal was to “preserve its beauty, its natural habitat,” but said there were also potential downsides to living on the island and that it was “not a dream that people can achieve.”
