    Payment of the PIS/Pasep salary bonus to workers is scheduled to begin in January 2022, and within the expectation of receiving workers, the bonus may accrue to several workers who meet the criteria.

    What are the conditions for obtaining the double salary bonus?

    With the news that the salary bonus PIS/Pasep could be doubled, workers were left in doubt about how these payments will work and even who they are entitled to.

    First of all, we need to clarify that salary bonus is a benefit that is paid annually to workers officially in the previous year.

    Thus, the workers who worked this year will receive the base year salary bonus for 2021 in 2022. However, it is important to remember that the salary bonus for 2020, i.e. for workers who worked in 2020, which should have been launched this year as it has been postponed to next year.

    Therefore, the requirements for the double PIS/Pasep salary bonus are to have worked on an official contract in 2020 and 2021 and to meet the following rules for two years:

    • Be registered with PIS/Pasep for at least five years in the base year;
    • have earned a maximum of up to a minimum wage in the base year;
    • have engaged in paid activity for a legal entity, for at least 30 days, consecutive or not, in the base year considered for the account;
    • In addition, it is essential that the company has correctly sent the workers data in the RAIS (Annual Social Information Report).

    How much will the double allowance amount be?

    It is important to note here that the PIS/Pasep Salary Bonus is paid in an amount up to one minimum wage to those who have worked on an official contract throughout the base year.

    Those who worked less time will receive the amount proportional to the time worked. For example, the new minimum wage set by the government in 2022 should be R$1,210, therefore, those who worked for 12 months in 2020 would receive R$1,210 in reference to the 2020 allowance and those who Those who worked for 12 months this year received an additional amount. 1,210 BRL refers to the 2021 allowance.

    Those who worked 5 months in 2020 and a full year in 2021 will receive the equivalent of 5 months in 2020 and the full amount of minimum wage in 2021.

    To check the amount to be received in each base year, simply divide the minimum wage by 12 (12 months) and multiply it by the number of months worked in the respective period.

    PIS / Pasep . Fund

    While workers are waiting to receive the PIS/Pasep salary bonus, Caixa has already issued R$23 billion to withdraw PIS/Pasep shares from workers.

    It is worth noting that PIS/Pasep quotas are different from PIS/Pasep wage bonus and rights holders can withdraw. To see how the withdrawal from the PIS / Pasep fund works, just see here.
