In the post-Olympic period, the world’s largest sporting competition, which took place between July 23 and August 8, the Olympic spirit of transforming lives through sport continues to be noticeably visible in the community. Dreams, aspirations and hard work to make people better through role models, inspiration and health promotion.

In the current context, there is a concern in the corporate world that goes beyond the goal of profits: the quality of life of employees, which includes exercise. A study conducted by the University of Bristol, UK, compared the performance of 200 people on days with and without physical activity. When employees were exercising, the results were: 21% more focused, 41% more motivated to work, and 25% finished work earlier.

URBS Connect Director, Thiago Cardoso, says the company understood this connection and planned to provide more health and well-being conditions for employees, as well as to spend more interaction moments together. “Exercise positively affects people’s daily lives, it creates synergy, which helps in solving problems, mainly because they work as a team. This is what is greatly enhanced in sports,” the Director of URBS Connect continued. As renovation continues in the unit, located in the Marista sector, as well as the gourmet area, the site will contain a sandy pitch, with bleachers and changing rooms, as a way to encourage sports among the staff.

“When we decided to build the court, our goal was to change where people want to spend more time, but have a good time, to bring people into the company. And if there is one thing that unites people and at the same time generates leisure, it is exercise. Plus , there are health issues, and we want our employee to be in better health, and here he can do his activities calmly, including with a personal trainer, playing beach volleyball, soccer and beach tennis,” says Thiago.

Also according to Thiago Cardoso, the works on the unit are already in the final stage of finishing and decoration. The space is scheduled to open in the first half of September.
