When it comes to complaints, we imagine they involve something serious, right? However, a case in Cordoba, Argentina had repercussions after a woman went to the police to report something unusual.
She would only call the officers to say the neighbor was having a barbecue every day and it annoyed her, according to information from the Metro newspaper.
Before looking for the police, the resident knocked on the neighbor’s door, but did not ask her to shorten the barbecue range.
The unusual thing about this story is that the woman did not go to the officers because of the noise or even smoke from the barbecue, but because the neighbor was able to grill meat daily.
The head of the city’s Ombudsman, Alicia Persotti, described the complaint as “unreasonable”, with the woman saying that “with current prices for meat, we can’t grill every day.”
Finally, since there was no direct solution to the issue, Alicia put forward two alternatives: “Have the reported neighbors limit how often they have barbecues, or they invite the affected family.”
