The Brazilian quartet had the sixth best time in the general classification for the race and will enter the final on Saturday

The Brazilian quartet of Americans Felipe Bardi, Rodrigo Nascimento, Eric Cardoso and Derek de Sousa on Friday (22) managed to advance to the finals of the 4x100m relay at the Oregon World Athletics Championships in the United States.

In the qualification dispute, Friday night (Brasilia time), the Brazilian team started the session with Rodrygo, followed by Bardy, Derek and Eric, achieving a mark of 38 seconds and 41. The result left the team fifth in the heat and sixth in the general classification.

“There is always room for improvement. Our goal was to reach the final, and now we have to fix some mistakes so that God willing we can reach this medal,” Bardy commented in an interview with SporTV, shortly after the race.

The lead in the playoffs went to Team USA, which runs at home and is the top favorite for the gold medal.

The final of the 4x100m relay will take place on Saturday evening at 11:50 pm BST. In addition to the hosts and the Brazilians, the decision will include teams from France, Canada, South Africa, Jamaica, the United Kingdom and Ghana.
