The trend is getting worse
Recent UN reports reveal that July was officially the hottest month on record. Surprisingly, higher temperatures were observed even in regions where it should be in winter, such as South America.

John Nairn, an expert at the Geneva-based World Meteorological Organization, confirms that heat waves are a direct result of human activities that change the climate. These episodes are expected to become more frequent and prolonged in the future. Nairn points out that scientific warnings about the harmful effects of excessive emissions of polluting gases can no longer be ignored.
“People are very comfortable facing the signs. We’ll get to that point. And it’s not over yet. It’s only going to get more intense and heat waves will be more frequent,” Nairn says.
One aspect of particular concern highlighted by the meteorologist was the high temperatures at night. Not only does this phenomenon harm human health, but it also affects daytime temperatures.
