Tom Cruise fully introduced himself during the recording of “Mission: Impossible – Reckoning Part 1”. The actor trained for three years to create one of the most dangerous scenes of his career.

The star has dispensed with stuntmen to do the jump-jump, or speed-fly, an extreme sport that is one of the most dangerous in the world. The flight, which uses a small glider capable of reaching high speeds, takes place in hard-to-reach places.

“[Eu queria] Give the audience the feeling of flying,” explains Tom. With Tom there are no limits so we get more adventurous each time,” explained Christopher McCurry, Feature Director.

Recorded in Lake Valley, UK, Tom descends at speeds over 80 km/h. The film crew needed to build camera equipment that could capture motion without disturbing the flight.

“In Mission: Impossible, we have an actor doing his own stunts and we’re constantly trying to develop the technology to show him doing it. And with flying so fast, that was a really tough challenge,” said the director.
