The feature developed by WhatsApp creates a barrier against account theft

New version of WhatsApp makes some users unhappy

The Meta Group has taken care of strengthening the security system, creating alternatives that prevent cybercriminals from operating. After conditions were enhanced through advanced encryption and two-step confirmation, other mechanisms came to the fore. As such, the 2.22.17.22 beta for Android has tested a feature aimed at a particular scam.

In this case, scammers will ask for a code sent via SMS, when sending fake job offers. Thus, they were able to gain access to the victim’s profile, and started using their networks without restrictions. Therefore, whoever suffers this attack ends up losing their account permanently, with great difficulty in proving fraud in the reporting channels, because it may be too late.

Scams involving WhatsApp usually have many hidden risks

Access to personal files such as bank details and the possibility of threatening friends and family in exchange for material goods are a consequence of these crimes. To prevent this from happening, a notification that someone is trying to hack your WhatsApp will prevent password theft from completing. The beep acts as a confirmation, which makes it possible to intercept the login on an unknown device.

When a person tries to log into the platform with their number, using their information, an alert will be sent. A notification will appear on your cell phone, with the following message: “Allow the transfer of your WhatsApp account to another phone”, the “No” option will interrupt the initiative of the scammer, saving the data. The tool is still in the testing phase and there are no expectations for its release.
