According to the site’s sources indoor gamesPS5 Pro is under development and could launch in late 2024.

Insider Gaming previously reported that a new PlayStation 5 with a removable disc drive is set to launch later this year. It is understood that this new model will phase out the existing PlayStation 5 to reduce production and shipping costs. Despite widespread reports, this is not a PS5 Pro model. It’s “just the beginning of new hardware coming to PlayStation users this generation,” said a source when talking about the detachable drive controller.

As for what the PS5 specs will entail, details are limited. However, a recently published patent by PlayStation architect Mark Cerny suggests that Sony Interactive Entertainment is looking to “accelerate” ray tracing performance in video games.

Just as the PS4 had for the PS4 Pro, we can imagine the PS5 Pro will have improved visuals, performance, and speeds.

Insider Gaming sources believe that the next generation PlayStation, the PS6, won’t be released until 2028 or later. This would put the current console release schedule in a similar position as its predecessors.
