What happens after the animation starts in Formula 1 2022?

The 2022 Formula 1 season is still in progress, the races on, but it remains the same: the much-talked-about spending cap that has been set for this year. Once again, the person responsible for tackling the problem was Christian Horner – a staunch advocate of the FIA for an initially scheduled limit increase.

The Red Bull boss, Briton argued that inflation had reached all corners of Europe – due to the invasion of Ukraine by Russia – and that teams could not control the rampant increase the situation had caused in spending.

“How you design your car is within your control,” Horner told Sky Sports. “This is something that you and your designer group create. You control your own destiny. What we see in the world right now, we don’t control the inflationary costs that affect homes all over the world,” he explained.

Horner even cited the rising cost of living in England, which inflation is expected to rise, and said that the rise directly affects what teams spend on a number of fronts. Previously, the Red Bull boss had already said he feared seeing the championship “ending in court”, with most teams suffering from the limit set by the FIA.

“In the UK, we are seeing an expected rise in inflation of 11%,” the Red Bull boss continued. “This has a direct impact on people, materials, electricity, goods and parts. I really think it’s a force majeure event that the FIA needs to deal with,” he said.

The next phase of the 2022 season marks the return of Formula 1 to Europe: The British Grand Prix, a traditional stage held at Silverstone, is scheduled to take place between July 1 and 3.
