PS5 game streaming is coming to PS Plus Premium in October

Since launching the new PlayStation Plus over a year ago, we’ve seen great engagement from our fans across our offering – from the high-quality games available in our game catalog like Horizon Forbidden West and Sea of ​​Stars, to the new reward features we’ve added to classic games like Legend of Dragoon and Siphon. Today we have more details to share about cloud streaming on PS5 for PlayStation Plus Premium members. Starting this month, we’ll begin rolling out cloud streaming access to PS5 digital titles supported in the PlayStation Plus game catalog* and gaming experiences*, as well as titles supported in the PS5 game library owned by PlayStation Plus Premium members.

Some PS5 games will be available for streaming, and we plan to have hundreds of PS5 games to support this new feature. This includes:

● The best PS5 games in the PlayStation Plus game catalog*, like Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Horizon Forbidden West, Ghost of Tsushima, Mortal Kombat 11, and Saints Row IV

● Game tests* for PS5 games like Hogwarts Legacy, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and The Callisto Protocol

● Additional digital PS5 games owned by PlayStation Plus Premium members that will be available for streaming, such as Resident Evil 4, Dead Island 2, Genshin Impact, Fall Guys, and Fortnite

These are just a few examples of supported PS5 games that will include a cloud streaming option as well as downloading.

PS5 cloud streaming is available exclusively on the PS5 console at launch. Without having to download a game, players can access PS5 game streaming through their PlayStation Plus Premium subscription. Additionally, PlayStation Plus Premium members will also see features available with the new streaming feature on PS5, including:

● Downloadable content and in-game purchases It will be available to stream PS5 games, including downloadable content (DLC) and add-ons – similar to downloadable game purchases.

● High-quality resolution options** including 4K, 1440p, 1080p, and 720p, with 60 fps and SDR or HDR output.

● Improve the sound With support for all PS5 audio features, including 5.1 and 7.1, as well as Tempest 3D Audiotech.

● Take screenshots and record up to 3 minutes of videowhich will be downloaded to your Media Gallery on PS5 and will also be available in the Media Gallery in the PS app

Since this will be a big undertaking for our teams, we plan to roll it out regionally through a phased approach. Here are the release dates we are targeting in local time:

● Japan – Forecast for October 17

● Europe – Forecast for October 23

● North America – Forecast for October 30th

PlayStation Plus Premium cloud streaming will be available in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway and Poland. Portugal, the Republic of Cyprus, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States.
