When Call of Duty launches on PlayStation consoles later this year, it will be the last. At least, the latter with the current contract. The Terms may or may not change as the Activision Blizzard acquisition progresses.

“[O] The last game covered by the contract is Call of Duty, which will be released in late 2023,” the document reads.

Microsoft offered Sony a 10-year franchise contract to stay on the platform if the acquisition went ahead. However, Sony declined the offer.

As part of the poorly drafted documents, it was revealed that Call of Duty made over $27 billion in its lifetime. Furthermore, Call of Duty has been claimed to have between 7 and 10 million active users. It also states that “nearly 1 million users spent 100% of their time playing Call of Duty” in 2021.

Even though the contract has expired, Activision says it plans to bring the game to PlayStation with or without a new contract. Activision CEO Bobby Kotick said Thursday that Call of Duty isn’t console exclusive because the company doesn’t want to “waste 100 million monthly active players.”
