In 1985, the animated series “ThunderCats” was released. The plot follows the adventures of a group of cat-humans from Thundera, a dying planet they end up with, forcing them to abandon their homeland.

On the new planet, Lion-O, Cheetara, Panthro, Tygra, WilyKit, WilyKat and Snarf must battle a demonic wizard Mumm Ra. On Third Earth, the ThunderCats experience great adventures as they battle the forces of evil.

Upon learning of the Eye of Thundera, the source of all the heroes’ power, the villain recruits mutants to aid him in his plan to defeat them, and maintain his evil control over the entire planet.

The series was produced by Pacific Animation Corporation (PAC), and was later acquired by The Walt Disney Company. The story mixes science fiction and fantasy, showing the struggle of good against evil.
