    a Famitsu Released an article containing new details about the new version of Silent Hill 2.

    Check out the summary below:

    • The Bloober team is largely responsible for the efforts to make the game identical to the original. Ito and Yamaoka wanted Konami to change things;
    • “After all, game creators don't want to do the same thing they created again. They don't want people to enjoy the same thing. So I think there were a lot of parts that they wanted to change radically in the remake. But in the end, thanks to the feedback… The Bloober team, who are also big fans of the original, had the remake very respectful of the original.
    • Had the development team been formed entirely in Japan, it could have been a very different remake;
    • She reiterates that fighting is not the focus Silent Hill 2;
    • The interface is fully customizable and can be disabled. James still looks at items to draw the player's attention to them;
    • “No yellow paint”;
    • The intro scene was reworked to be more accurate after feedback. The nurse's parkour movement was modified after feedback;
    • James was originally designed to be older because the player was now older, but they reversed his appearance;
    • Question: Please tell us about the game system. First, at the beginning of the original, there was a part where you keep walking down a forest path where it looks like something scary is going to happen, but nothing happens. Even though nothing is happening, the sound and atmosphere slowly bring a sense of secret fear to the player. Are these scenes also included in the new version?
      Answer: Of course this part will appear almost unchanged. The only thing that changes at first is the timing of your first encounter with a creature. Creature combat is not so important in Silent Hill 2. Therefore, in the early stages of development, we delayed creature encounters longer than in the original version, with the aim of letting players enjoy the time before the real world madness unfolds. However, we received a lot of feedback that the meeting was too slow and lacked contrast, which made it boring, so we moved the meeting date forward. However, the meeting time is later than the original version. This is mainly due to differences in the system.
