Microsoft will force the upgrade from Windows 10 20H2 to 21H2 soon

Microsoft has introduced a new update to the operating system’s Health Dashboard page. According to the information entered, the Redmond giant will soon update Windows 10 20H2 to 21H2 automatically.

The situation occurs with the Home and Pro versions. Microsoft will end support for version 20H2 on May 10, 2022. Now, the company will give four months to change.

Microsoft’s move is not surprising, because it is often the standard procedure for the company when the version of the operating system is nearing the end of its support. So users will need to install a newer version.

As the company explained in its note, the automatic release of the 21H2 version for 20H2-equipped PCs will be part of the machine learning training. This means that some computers will update to see how the device behaves and continue based on the results.

“In light of this maintenance schedule, we have started rolling out Machine Learning (ML) training devices on Windows 10 version 20H2 that are nearing the end of maintenance to automatically upgrade to Windows 10 version 21H2.”

It should be noted that since it’s an “H2” update, the Foundation and Education variants – targeting corporate users and students, respectively – will still have an additional year of official support. 2004 version of the system Has stopped receiving since mid-December last year.
