When asked about launching the game on current platforms, he replied: “We're aware of this situation with MGS4. Unfortunately, we can't say much at the moment, but since Volume 1 contains MGS 1-3… maybe you can connect the dots!”

“Right now, we’re still internally concerned about what we should do for the future of the series. I’m sorry, we can’t really reveal anything at the moment. But stay tuned!

In June of last year, fans discovered that the timeline on the official Metal Gear Solid page had dedicated buttons for Metal Gear Solid 4, 5, and Peace Walker, leading them to believe that the three games would be part of the Master Collection Vol. 1 that is supposed to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, Switch, and Xbox Series X|S.

While it's great to have access to all three games on current consoles, Metal Gear Solid 4 is the game that's attracting the most attention from gamers, having been released in 2008 only for the PlayStation 3, where it remains an exclusive to this day.
