Marietta Severo terminates her contract with Globo after nearly 40 years

After nearly 40 years at TV Globo, 75-year-old Marietta Severo has terminated her contract with the station. She, like other artists, must make a piece and it has already been adapted for a new project.

Marietta’s first job was at Globo in 1966, in a novel “Sheikh of Agadir”, just a year after the broadcaster debuted. She spent a period of time away, first because of “self-exile” in Rome – this was the time of the military dictatorship and she and then-husband Chico Poark were advised not to return to Brazil – and then because of the birth of their daughters, to whom she decided to devote herself exclusively.

He returned to TV Globo in 1983. His most notable roles were in soap operas such as “Que Rei Sou Eu?” (1989), “Family Ties” (2000), “Verdades Secretas” (2015) and the immortal Dona Nenê in the series “A Grande Família”, broadcast from 2001 to 2014.

Recently, Lúcio Mauro Filho said that the decision to end the program came from conversations between him and Marietta.

The artist’s latest work at Globo was in “place in the sun“,” 9pm telenovela that ran until March of this year. She played Noca, the grandmother of the protagonist played by Andréia Horta.
