Sigma is a new mobile battle royale game android In early access, which attracted the attention of gamers for its great similarity with Free fire battlegroundsGive Garena🇧🇷 Studio Arm has third-person shooter gameplay basically identical to that of Free Fire, but its visuals favor a more cartoonish style with more vibrant colors and greater contrast. Sigma was first released for Android in Google Play Storebut it is not currently available for download.
a TechAll I contacted Garena to understand the company’s position regarding the games’ similarity, but has not yet received a response.

Both games have Battle Royale as their main mode, with the same number of participants: a total of 50 players jump out of a plane with no equipment and need to find weapons to defend themselves. The controls are the same in both games, with a virtual joystick that allows you to move around on the left side of the screen and the camera and aim control on the right side. When aiming, the user also has an aiming aid to compensate for inaccuracy. The duck and jump buttons are also present in the same place in both games.
The Sigma map is basically the same as the Free Fire Battlegrounds Bermuda map, which is a large open island where users can encounter each other with scattered points of interest. As usual in Battle Royale games, the safe area on the map shrinks regularly forcing the surviving players to clash.

Perhaps the biggest difference between the games is in their visual style. Free Fire Battlegrounds opts for a more realistic look, with more realistic colors, similar to more serious Battle Royale games like PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds🇧🇷 On the other hand, Sigma misuses flashy colors that give a look close to that of the anime, which is very similar to games like Fortnite🇧🇷 Bright colors increase contrast and make it easier to see objects and other players from a distance. Both games have options to run the game faster and with less detail or with more graphical accuracy.

At this point, Free Fire Battlegrounds is ahead of Sigma. The new challenger only has “Classic Battle Royale” and “4v4 Fight Out” mode. This second mode brings clashes between two teams of four players, which is the equivalent of “Contra Squad” from Free Fire. In the game Garena, there are many other additional modes such as Zombie Hunt Mode, FF Gladiators, Train Attack, and Sniper.

In terms of characters, Sigma is also far behind, with only two characters available in its beta phase and a third to be unlocked. Players can choose between Ein, who is able to create a shield to protect themselves, and Rei, who is camouflaged. Free Fire Battlegrounds has a well-established cast of over 50 characters, including some based on famous people like Cristiano Ronaldo, Anita, DJ Alok, and more.
