The first iPhone was released in 2007, but it has not been forgotten, and many users still have fond memories of it. With that in mind, PhoneBuff has decided to run a speed test with a duel of generations, where the iPhone 2G takes on the iPhone 12. See how they fared.
The channel’s initial testing includes opening the Camera app, taking a picture, opening the Photos app, viewing the captured image, and using the calculator and other apps preloaded on the iPhone since its first release.
Unfortunately, testing is limited to these apps, as the App Store is no longer available for the iPhone 2G even with iOS 3.1.3, which is the last version that supports it.
Speaking of specs a bit, the iPhone 2G has a single core processor running at 412MHz along with 128MB of RAM. The screen is 3.5 inches with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels.
With the test results completed, we have the iPhone 12 complete all tasks in just 20 seconds, while the iPhone 2G takes 86 seconds to open and use all the apps.
The result was already expected, now that all iPhone 2G devices are very old, but at the time it was very innovative and impressive, providing an unprecedented experience for 2007.
