    The electricity bill will be cheaper starting Monday (29). New electricity tariffs for more than 4 million customers of Neonergia Pernambuco were set on Tuesday (23) by the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel), responsible for regulating Brazil's electricity sector.

    Check out the tariff adjustments announced by Aneel below:

    • Low voltage power reception which includes most residential customers: -2.63%;
    • Served customers in high voltage, such as medium and large industries and trade: -2.85%;
    • Average indicator affecting consumers: -2.69%.

    According to Neoenergia Pernambuco, despite the inflation that occurred during this period, costs related to energy distribution services contributed to the adjustment being smaller, falling by 4.40%, which contributed to a decrease in the final index of -1.39%.

    “Other items that cannot be managed by the distributor (energy purchasing, transportation, sectoral duties and financial items) contributed -1.30% to the total index,” Neoenergia Pernambuco said in a note.
