EA Sports FC 24 is Electronic Arts’ first soccer game since ending its partnership with FIFA, and according to the first reports on sales in the United Kingdom, it sold fewer physical units than last year’s game.
GI.biz’s Chris Dring shared that EA Sports FC 24 sold 30% fewer physical units than FIFA 23 and across all platforms, only Nintendo Switch saw an increase in game sales (9%) compared to the game released by EA Sports in 2022.
Despite this, EA Sports FC 24 became the 2nd best physical release of the year in the United Kingdom. It’s ahead of Hogwarts Legacy and only Zelda: Kingdom Tears has done better.
According to Dring, who recently spoke with EA Sports about the start of this new era, the company expects little impact on sales related to the name change.
However, the company expects to sell more units in the digital format and expects sales to continue at a good pace over the next few months.
