Bubba (Gabriela Medeiros) runs over Tika (Livia Silva) in Chapter 22 of this Thursday's remake. The psychologist had already received some kind of warning about the meeting, and only a small portion of viewers actually picked up on the hint – in the scene in which she reads a book by Jorge Amado (1912-2001) about the Globo soap opera.

This sequence not only served to strengthen the “spiritual connection” between Bubba and Jose Inocencio (Marcos Palmeira), whom she began to regard as a father figure — just like Mariana (Teresa Fonseca). However, the farmer also mentioned the author when explaining why he did not want to be called Colonel.

Gabriela Medeiros' character had a sort of premonition when she chose Capitàes de Areia to read for Monday's class. After all, the story directly references Doe's gang (Jose Dubuque) in Bruno Leberi's series.

Du is built on the image and likeness of the novel's protagonist, Pedro Bala, who also lives on the streets of El Salvador. He falls in love with Dora, who immediately reminds him of Tika herself.

Part of the audience did not understand the signal, but many Internet users ignored the call. “Boba reads Capitàes de Areia before introducing the first scene to Teca and her group of friends, who later meet her story. Simple but great detail from Renascer's direction,” praised the profile identified as Erick on X (formerly Twitter).

“Is this my impression or is this Renaissance story similar to the Capitàes de Areia,” Colan asked. Barbara asked Clara: “Guys, are these teenagers in the series a reference to Capitàes de Areia?”

“It's clearly a reference to Capitàes de Areia, Boba's scene made that very clear,” Sol concluded.

Renascer was written and created by author Benedito Ruy Barbosa. The first version was broadcast on Globo in 1993. Bruno Leberi is the novelist's grandson and is responsible for the adaptation of the rural saga that premiered in prime time in January. The new version should be replaced by a new plot by João Emmanuel Carneiro in September.
