    CIDSI holds a symposium on the State Law for Sports IncentivesThe 2023 State Sports Incentives Law Symposium, an initiative of the Minas Gerais State Secretariat for Social Development (Sedese-MG), through the Undersecretariat for Sports (Subesp), aims to present the balance of procedures and estimates for the second semester, with the aim of improving the mechanism. The meeting dealt with information on fundraising balance and the number of analytical projects in recent public releases. A timeline for forecasting the launch of new public notices and updating legislation is also presented. The event took place on Friday 21/7 in the JK Hall of the Administrative City of Minas Gerais.

    The Minas Gerais Sports Incentive Law aims to promote the practice of sports in the state. According to the Undersecretary for Sport, Antonio Eduardo Viana Miranda, the event was a success with very fruitful discussions. “We have a great involvement of the sports community, and they are all engaged in improving the mechanism of the Sports Incentives Law and promoting sports in our state. It is very important to listen to the community so that we can improve our management techniques, so that the citizens of Minas Gerais can always be better served, ”says Antonio.

    The event was attended by the implementers of the State Law on Sports Incentives, as well as representatives of associations, clubs, federations, facilitators and other parties interested in the mechanism. President and founder of the Minas Gerais Jiu-Jitsu Federation, Adir Alves de Almeida, a veteran of the sport of Minas Gerais, was also present at the event and spoke about his experience, “I like to explain, I think it helps us a lot in carrying out our projects, knowing better how to apply for resources.”

    For Daniele Prometo Castelao, Treasurer of the Instituto Trilha, integration and information exchange were highlights of the seminar. “We’ve been working with the incentive law since it was created, in 2014. And it’s very important that we continue to follow it, understand the way the law works, which has really evolved a lot. Before that, I had to print everything, sign it, and a lot of bureaucracy, it had A huge development. It is also a good opportunity for the entities to be close to the state and to each other, to exchange ideas and establish partnerships. We are all here walking together to develop good public policies.”

    State Sports Incentives Act

    The State Sports Incentive Law is a program that promotes the practice of sports in the State of Minas Gerais, through which the financial support provided by companies to sports projects approved by Subesp can be deducted from the monthly ICMS debt balance, while allocating the resource in the form of sports to the population. Sports projects must be submitted in accordance with the terms and deadlines of the selection notices.

    Non-profit legal entities, which have more than one year of legal existence, which are established in the country and are fully and regularly operating, may be submitted. In addition to halls and bodies of indirect public administration (municipalities and public institutions). It is also necessary to demonstrate the ability to implement a sports project, being directly responsible for the promotion and implementation of a sports project to benefit from the programme.
