    The federal lottery betting values have not changed since 2019, which is why many players are surprised.

    Federal lottery players will have to shell out more money to play a “female” role starting at the end of April. This is because Caixa Econômica Federal, the bank that controls this activity in the country, has announced an increase in betting values.

    According to preliminary information, the bank decided to readjust the value of bets due to inflationary changes. The announcement surprised many punters and raised questions about other possible reasons for the changes.

    Among these questions is the doubt whether the increase in the value of the stakes will also increase the value of the prizes, as Caixa will collect more money.

    Although there is no official statement from the Bank on this matter, it is likely that the prize pools will increase, since the amounts awarded to the winners of the draws are calculated based on the amount collected in each competition.

    New bets

    According to a statement sent by Caixa to the lottery owners, the stakes increases will come into effect on April 30 on Mega-Sena, Quina, Lotofácil and Lotomania.

    The stakes for Timemania and Dia de Sorte, two lesser-known games, will be adjusted from May 3 onwards.

    These are the proposed new values:

    • Sina mega: from R$4.50 to R$5.00 (as of tender 2588);
    • Lutovacil: from R$ 2.50 to R$ 3.00 (as of tender 2801);
    • Quina: from R$ 2.00 to R$ 2.50 (as of tender 6138);
    • Lutomania: from R$ 2.50 to R$ 3.00 (as of tender 2462);
    • TeamMania: from R$3.00 to R$3.50 (from the 1932 competition onwards);
    • lucky day: from R$2.00 to R$2.50 (starting from contest 753).
