    Carrefour Brazil (CRFB3) reported total consolidated sales of R$27.8 billion in the first quarter of 2024 (1Q24), an increase of 2.5% compared to the first quarter of 2023 (1Q2023).

    Gross trading volume (GMV) reached R$2.4 billion in this period, a growth of 52% year-on-year.

    In contrast, cash and carry (C&C) sales totaled R$ 19.3 billion, 6.6% higher than in the first quarter of 2023, driven by growth in same-store sales (LfL) of +1.8% in the year-over-year comparison and due to 4.5% growth in sales Atakadaw. Expansion, with over 20 new C&C stores in the past 12 months.

    Meanwhile, retail sales totaled R$6.9 billion in the first quarter of 2024, down 10.7% year-on-year. According to the company, this figure is due to a 24% decline in sales territory, with 25 retail stores converted to Atacadao stores and 140 retail stores closed in the past 12 months.

    Banco Carrefour's total revenues reached R$15.9 billion in the first quarter of 2024, a year-on-year increase of 15.6%, driven by 20.1% growth in Atacadão Card revenues and 8.4% growth in Carrefour Card revenues. Sam's Club credit card revenue reached R$440 million in the quarter, up 192.6% year-over-year.
